Community Guidelines

Revisto+ is built on the belief that learning is better together. Our community brings together students, educators, and lifelong learners who share a passion for STEM education and collaborative learning.

These Community Guidelines help maintain a safe, respectful, and productive environment for everyone. By using Revisto+ and participating in our community, you agree to follow these guidelines.

Everyone deserves to learn in a welcoming environment, regardless of background, skill level, or learning style.

Be Respectful and Kind - DO:

• ✔ Treat everyone with courtesy and respect
• ✔ Appreciate diverse perspectives and learning styles
• ✔ Be patient with those who are learning
• ✔ Use encouraging and supportive language
• ✔ Respect others' time and efforts
• ✔ Give credit where credit is due

Provide Constructive Feedback - DO:

• ✔ Focus on the content, not the person
• ✔ Explain what could be improved and why
• ✔ Offer suggestions or alternatives
• ✔ Acknowledge what works well
• ✔ Be specific and helpful

DON'T:

• X Use harsh or insulting language
• X Make personal attacks or criticisms
• X Leave vague negative feedback
• X Be condescending or dismissive

Create Quality Content - DO:

• ✔ Ensure accuracy of information
• ✔ Cite sources when appropriate
• ✔ Proofread for spelling and grammar
• ✔ Organize content logically
• ✔ Add helpful descriptions and tags
• ✔ Update content when you find errors

Harassment and Abuse - NEVER:

• X Harass, bully, or intimidate others
• X Use hateful, discriminatory, or offensive language
• X Make personal attacks or insults
• X Threaten or incite violence
• X Engage in sexual harassment or unwanted advances
• X Dox or share others' personal information
• X Stalk or repeatedly contact someone who doesn't want communication

Zero Tolerance Policy: We have zero tolerance for harassment. Violations result in immediate account suspension or termination.

Inappropriate Content - DO NOT Post:

• X Sexually explicit or pornographic material
• X Violent or graphic content
• X Hate speech or discriminatory content
• X Content promoting self-harm or suicide
• X Illegal activities or substances
• X Personal information of yourself or others

Misinformation and Academic Dishonesty - DO NOT:

• X Deliberately share false or misleading information
• X Create content designed to help others cheat
• X Share exam questions or answers without permission
• X Plagiarize or copy content without attribution
• X Create fake accounts to manipulate ratings

Academic Integrity Matters: Revisto+ is a study tool, not a cheating tool. Always follow your institution's academic integrity policies.

Spam and Manipulation - DO NOT:

• X Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content
• X Create multiple accounts to manipulate ratings
• X Use bots or automated tools without permission
• X Engage in vote manipulation or fake reviews
• X Send unsolicited messages or requests

How to Report:

Report Content: Tap "⋮" menu → Select "Report" → Choose violation type → Provide details → Submit

Report Urgent Issues:

• Severe violations (threats, illegal content, child safety): abuse@revisto.app
• Copyright violations: copyright@revisto.app
• Privacy concerns: privacy@revisto.app
• General issues: official.revistoplus@gmail.com

What Happens After You Report:

1. Acknowledgment: You'll receive confirmation
2. Review: Our moderation team reviews within 24-48 hours
3. Action: Content removal, warnings, suspension, or permanent ban
4. Notification: You may be notified of the outcome

False Reporting: Do NOT file false or malicious reports. False reporting may result in consequences for your account.

We take a graduated enforcement approach, considering severity, intent, user history, and community impact.

Minor Violations: Warning, content removal, temporary feature restrictions

Moderate Violations: Temporary suspension (7-30 days), loss of sharing privileges, content removal

Severe Violations: Permanent account termination, IP ban, report to law enforcement, legal action

Immediate Permanent Ban (zero tolerance): Threats of violence, child exploitation, severe harassment, illegal content, hacking, ban evasion

Appeals Process: Email appeals@revisto.app with your username, description, and supporting evidence. We'll review within 7 business days. Appeals decisions are final.

Public Sharing:

• ✔ Ensure accuracy and quality
• ✔ Add clear titles and descriptions
• ✔ Tag appropriately for discoverability
• X Don't share exam content without permission
• X Don't share copyrighted commercial materials

Ratings and Reviews:

• ✔ Be honest and objective
• ✔ Base ratings on quality, accuracy, usefulness
• ✔ Explain your rating in the review
• X Don't rate your own content with alternate accounts
• X Don't leave revenge ratings or personal attacks

AI-Generated Content:

• ✔ Review and verify accuracy before sharing
• ✔ Edit and improve AI outputs
• ✔ Take responsibility for content you share
• X Don't share unverified AI content

Teachers and Tutors:

• ✔ Create high-quality, curriculum-aligned content
• ✔ Respect student privacy
• ✔ Follow your institution's policies
• X Don't pressure students to use Revisto+
• X Don't share proprietary curriculum

Institutional Use: Contact education@revisto.app for institutional partnerships. Student data privacy must be protected. Comply with FERPA, COPPA, and other education laws.

Be Inclusive - DO:

• ✔ Welcome users from all backgrounds
• ✔ Respect different learning styles and abilities
• ✔ Use inclusive language
• ✔ Support learners at all skill levels
• ✔ Celebrate diversity

DON'T:

• X Discriminate based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or nationality
• X Use stereotypes or cultural insensitivity
• X Mock accents, language barriers, or non-native speakers
• X Gatekeep or claim subjects are "too hard" for certain people

Protect Your Privacy - DO:

• ✔ Use a username (not your real name if you prefer)
• ✔ Keep personal information private
• ✔ Use strong, unique passwords
• ✔ Log out on shared devices

DON'T Share:

• X Full name, address, phone number
• X School name or specific location
• X Social security number or financial info
• X Personal photos or identifiable information

Child Safety - For Users Under 18:

• Get parental permission before creating an account
• Never share personal information online
• Tell a trusted adult if anyone makes you uncomfortable

For Parents/Guardians: Supervise young users, review privacy settings, teach online safety. Contact parents@revisto.app with concerns.

Contributing Quality Content - Best Practices:

1. Start Simple: Share smaller decks before tackling large topics
2. Proofread: Check for errors before publishing
3. Organize: Use clear titles, tags, and descriptions
4. Update: Improve content based on feedback
5. Cite Sources: Give credit where due
6. Be Original: Create your own explanations and examples

Supporting Others - Ways to Help:

• Answer questions in your areas of expertise
• Review and rate content thoughtfully
• Share helpful study tips
• Welcome and encourage newcomers
• Report problems to keep the community safe

We celebrate outstanding community members through:

• Top Contributor Badges: For high-quality content creators
• Helpful Member Recognition: For those who support others
• Study Streak Milestones: For consistent learners
• Featured Content: Showcasing excellent study materials

Recognition Criteria: Consistent positive contributions, high-quality accurate content, helpful engagement, following guidelines, positive peer feedback

Note: Recognition can be revoked for guideline violations.

We may update these Community Guidelines to address new features, clarify rules, respond to feedback, or comply with legal requirements.

When we update: We'll notify you in-app, post updates on our website, change the "Last Updated" date, and announce major changes via email.

Your Responsibility: Review guidelines periodically, understand current rules, ask questions if unclear, comply with updated guidelines.
